How It Works

Supporters (You!) Set a Budget

• Choose the total amount you want to spend each month (e.g., $5, $10, or $20).
• This is your support pool.
• You'll never be charged more than this budget.
• You can combine one-time tips and monthly pledges.
• Create your personal subscription tier for as little as one penny per month!

Choose Recipients to Support

When you pledge a monthly budget, you'll be able to select your Recipients — the creators, nonprofits, and causes you care about most.

• Add as many Recipients as you like.
• Split your budget evenly, or adjust percentages to give more to some and less to others.
• Supporters always stay in control of how their budget is shared.
• Any amount that you do not allocate will be split evenly among all Recipients.

Transparent Payments

• Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
• Support pledges are refundable for 30 days.
• After 30 days, pledges are final and cannot be refunded.

Equitable Distribution

• Every month, your pledge is collected and held for a short processing window.
• If there are leftover pennies after splitting, they're randomly distributed among recipients.

Creators & Causes Get Paid

• Recipients choose their payout threshold.
• Payouts are batched together to reduce transaction fees and maximize what recipients receive.
• Any balance below the threshold will simply roll over until it's large enough to be paid out.

Privacy Choices

Supporters can decide how visible they are:

• Public → Your name is shown.
• Personal → The recipient sees your name, but it isn't public.
• Anonymous → No name shown at all — just the contribution.

Fees & Transparency

Stripe's Processing Fees

Every payment is handled securely through Stripe.

Like all payment processors, Stripe charges a small fee to cover the cost of credit card networks and banking systems. These fees are taken automatically by Stripe before funds arrive in the Recipient's SupportSlice account.

SupportSlice's Platform Fee

To keep the platform running — covering development, servers, support, and compliance — SupportSlice takes a 5% management fee on all successful pledges (Other platforms often charge more).

By keeping our fee simple and transparent, we ensure that the majority of each pledge goes directly to the creators, nonprofits, and causes you care about.

No Hidden Costs

What you see is what you get: Stripe's processing fee + SupportSlice's platform fee. The rest goes to your Recipients.
