Terms of Service

Effective Date: 2025-09-03

Welcome to SupportSlice.com ("we," "our," "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and applications (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • Supporter – An individual or entity who registers on SupportSlice.com to provide financial contributions to one or more Recipients.
  • Recipient – An individual or entity approved by SupportSlice.com to receive funds from Supporters.
  • Pledge – The commitment by a Supporter to allocate a specified amount of money on a recurring basis to one or more Recipients. A Pledge is not a completed transfer of funds until processed by the Payment Processor.
  • Payment – The act of charging the Supporter’s payment method by the Payment Processor, in order to fulfill one or more Pledges.
  • Contribution (or Donation) – The amount of money successfully collected from a Supporter and allocated to Recipients, net of any platform fees and payment processing costs.
  • Distribution – The transfer of Contributions from SupportSlice.com (via the Payment Processor) to the Recipient’s designated account, according to the Supporter’s allocations.
  • Platform Fee – The percentage or fixed amount retained by SupportSlice.com from Contributions before Distribution to Recipients, in consideration for use of the platform.
  • Payment Processor – The third-party service provider authorized by SupportSlice.com to process Payments, such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar.
  • Account – The unique digital profile created on SupportSlice.com for either a Supporter or Recipient, which stores identifying information, payment methods, and activity.
  • Allocation – The specific percentage or dollar amount of a Supporter’s Pledge that is directed toward a particular Recipient.
Payment Lifecycle
  1. A Supporter sets up a Pledge (commitment to pay $X monthly).
  2. On billing date, the Payment Processor executes a Payment (collects the pledged amount).
  3. Once cleared, the Payment becomes a Contribution (funds credited toward Recipients).
  4. The Contribution is split into Allocations and moved into SupportSlice's holding account.
  5. At the payout cycle, SupportSlice makes a Distribution (net of Platform Fee + processor fees) to each Recipient.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
  • You may only use the Platform in countries where Stripe Connect is supported and legal.
  • By using the Platform, you confirm you can enter into legally binding agreements.

3. Accounts

  • Supporters must register with an email address and payment method.
  • Creators must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, including identity verification, to receive payments.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and secure.

4. Payments and Fees

  • Supporters commit to a monthly Subscription payment, with a minimum of $5 USD.
  • Supporters can split their payment among multiple Creators in any amounts (Allocations).
  • We collect all payments through Stripe. Stripe's processing fees are deducted from the payment before allocations are made.
  • We retain a Platform Fee of 5% of total payments before Creator payouts.
  • All amounts are in U.S. Dollars unless stated otherwise.

5. Refunds

  • We hold all payments for 30 days before releasing them to Recipients.
  • Supporters may request a refund of their most recent payment during this 30-day hold period by contacting support.
  • Once funds are released to a Creator after 30 days, they are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are issued in full for the eligible payment, but processing fees are not returned to you.
  • Example: If you pledged $5 and needed to refund, you would receive $5 back, minus Stripe's processing fees ($0.35) and our platform fee ($0.25), for a total of $4.30 refunded.

6. Payouts to Recipients

  • Payouts are made only through Stripe Connect to the Creator's Connected Account.
  • Recipients are responsible for any taxes, fees, or reporting obligations related to their income.
  • Payouts may be delayed or withheld if required by law, Stripe policy, or these Terms.

7. Taxes

  • Supporters are responsible for any applicable sales, VAT, or similar taxes on their payments.
  • Recipients are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on funds they receive.
  • Stripe may issue tax forms (e.g., IRS Form 1099-K in the U.S.) to Creators.

8. Content and Conduct

  • Creators are solely responsible for their content and external links.
  • You may not use the Platform for illegal activities, hate speech, harassment, or content prohibited by Stripe's Prohibited and Restricted Businesses list.

9. Our Role

  • We will notify you of material changes by posting them here and/or emailing you.
  • Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the new Terms.
